5 Easy steps to organise a small space
Organising a smaller space can feel very overwhelming and stressful. With smaller spaces the greatest advice would be to be very choosy about what you allow to come into your home/space.
If you have a small kitchen/pantry you shouldn’t be bulk buying but only buy as you need. Remember it is not about the space you have, it is about how you use it.
Here are some tips to help you make the task of organising a small space simpler...
Declutter often!
This will help prevent your items piling up. Haven’t used it for 6 months, get rid of it!
Containers / tubs / baskets / caddies / Lazy susan
They are great to keep everything organised and contained. Before you shop, measure your space before. It won’t help get organised if you come home with something that is not going to fit the space, it will just become more clutter!
Accept
With a small space you will always be moving things to get to what you need, so use the space creatively. Think about making use of vertical space using tiered shelves, wall mounted solutions, hooks, lazy susan’s, corner shelves, etc. Use the whole space.
Label everything!
Not only will it give everything a permanent home but will be easier to find, put away, and replenish.
Go paperless where you can.
You will surprised how much space paper can take up!
